Why can't I issue or transfer an Item ID?

If you receive a message that a particular Item ID can't be issued or transferred, there are a few possible reasons:

Bulk or Consumable parts

Cause

Solutions

When issuing or transferring, the quantity on hand might be insufficient.

When transferring, the destination stocking point might be outside the visibility of the part number

  • Change the visibility on the part number to a higher point in the location hierarchy

Serialized items

Cause

Solutions

When issuing or transferring, the item is issued.

When transferring, the destination stocking point might be outside the visibility of the part number

  • Change the visibility on the part number to a higher point in the location hierarchy

When issuing, the inventory status is not In Stock or an equivalent inventory status with the Can Issue flag

When transferring, the inventory status is not In Stock or an equivalent inventory status with the Can Transfer flag

Contact Support if these don't resolve the problem.
