Creating a Dissolving Kit

Creating a dissolving kit part number:

  1. Click Inventory on the left side menu, then click Part Numbers.
  2. Click  on the edit bar to create a new entry.
  3. Enter the Part Number, Description and Visibility Location.
  4. Select Serialized from the Inventory Type from the drop down list.
  5. Check Kit.
  6. Check Dissolve Serialized Kit.
  7. Click  on the edit toolbar to save the kit part number.

Creating a unique dissolving serialized kit:

  1. Create a new serialized item using your preferred method:
  2. Click Inventory on the left side menu, then click Part Numbers. Look up the part number then click the Items tab. Click to open the Serialized Items screen.
  3. Click Inventory on the left side menu, then click Serialized Items. Click to add a new record. Select the Part Number.
  4. Enter the identifying information for the kit.
    1. Enter an unique Item ID.
    2. Select the Stocking Point from the drop down list.
    3. Select an Inventory Status from the drop down list.
  5. Click the Kit Contents tab.
  6. Add each item ID to the Kit Contents
    1. Type the item ID in the Add Kit Content box or click to select from the list. The item ID, Part No, and Description are added in the grid below as being required for the kit.
    2. Modify the Required Qty if required for non-serialized inventory. For serialized items, the Required Qty must be 1. The Balance will show the shortage.
    3. Move the inventory into the kit by entering the Quantity.

      Any serialized items in the kit will now have a Kit ID link to this kit and the QOH will be 0.

      The stocking point for the item will reflect this quantity in the In Kit column

      Any bulk or consumable items in the kit will have the QOH reduced by the quantity adjusted into the kit.

      The stocking point for the item will reflect this quantity in the In Kit column

  7. Repeat the previous step for each item ID to add to the kit.
  8. Click on the edit toolbar to complete the process.

Only items that are In Stock and with a sufficient quantity on hand in the chosen stocking location may be added to a kit. Items with an insufficient quantity on hand can be added as a requirement but not added to the kit.
