Replace a Missing or Damaged Barcode or QR Code

In spite of industrial adhesive designed for industrial environments, preprinted barcodes or QR codes can be damaged or fall off. If a barcode or QR code needs to be changed or replaced, follow the steps listed below to continue to use the tool. The item's history will be updated to reflect the new Item ID.
Contact your account manager to order barcode or QR code labels.
In the browser:
- Lookup the old item ID/barcode.
- Remove any residue on the tool or equipment from the old barcode.
- Attach a new barcode or QR code label to the tool.
- Change the Item ID to reflect the new barcode or QR code label put on the tool.
- Click
to save the change.
A barcode can also be replaced using TH6 Mobile. See Changing an Item ID on TH6 Mobile.
Do not create a new item ID for the new barcode or QR code. This will duplicate inventory and lose important historic information such as service history for the tool or equipment.
