Report on Inventory

Updated by Cheryl Wallace

To run a report on

  • tools in the field (unreturned, outstanding), use the Issued Assets or Issues Summary report in the Transactions reports group. Specify a Due Date to report on overdue (late) items. See this article for more options.
  • an inventory catalog with no quantities, use the Inventory report in the Inventory reports group.
  • a summary by stocking location of total inventory by part number showing issued and on hand quantities, use the Inventory by Location report in the Inventory reports group.
  • a summary of total inventory by part number showing issued and on hand quantities with minimum and maximum quantities, use the Low Inventory report in the Inventory reports group.
  • a summary of total inventory cost by part number, use the Inventory Valuation report in the Inventory reports group.
  • a detailed list of all serialized assets, use the Serialized Inventory report in the Inventory reports group.
  • lost tools, it depends how they were recorded as stolen. If you have a custom inventory status, watch the lost tools video and use the corresponding inventory status.
  • third party rentals due to be returned, watch this video.

Several additional inventory reports are available.

Watch this video on how to determine which report to use.

You can use both Quick Filters and Advanced Filters to narrow down the results on reports. The filters available depend on the report. Remember that all reports can be viewed, printed, exported, or emailed.

For example, to report only bulk tools, or list consumable parts, filter on the Inventory Type. To report on only in stock (on hand) tools, filter on the Inventory Status. To report on a specific tool, filter on the Part Number or Description (full or partial).
