Adding a Transaction Type

Before adding any transaction types, contact ToolHound Support as there can be unexpected consequences can affect the accuracy of inventory.
To create a custom version of an existing transaction type:
  1. Click Transactions in the left side menu bar and then click Transaction Types.
  2. Click the checkbox to the left of the row to select transaction type you wish to copy.
  3. Click on the edit toolbar to duplicate the record, retaining all non-unique information from the transaction type.
  4. Modify the Transaction Type description for the new row to be unique.
  5. Modify the configuration of the transaction type, if required,
    1. Toggle the Issue, Return, or Sold flags, if necessary.
    2. Remove the Active flag to prevent the new transaction type from being used.
    3. Change the default Inventory Status, if a custom inventory status will be used.
  6. Click to save the transaction type.
To add new transaction type
  1. Click Transactions in the left side menu bar and then click Transaction Types.
  2. Click to add a new transaction type record.
  3. Enter the name of the Transaction Type in the field. Choose a descriptive name that clearly identifies the purpose of this transaction type.
  4. The display Order will default to 0. Change this to indicate where the transaction type will appear in lists.
  5. Check the box (Issue, Return, or Sold) which corresponds to the transaction type category or behavior.
  6. Select an Inventory Status from the drop down field. This setting determines how this transaction type will affect your serialized inventory.
  7. Click to save the transaction type.
