About Links

Links are bookmarks to websites outside of ToolHound and are displayed on the Home page in the Links panel for quick access. Examples include your corporate portal, a web-based ERP system, or the ToolHound Learning Center.

Links assigned to roles are dimmed compared to personal links.

Both types of links can appear together in the Links panel.

Links added by individual users can be edited or deleted at any time by the user by right-clicking on the Description in the Links panel.
Best practice is to configure links by roles to ensure consistency when multiple users will be working on the same tasks and should be referencing the same information.
Link Descriptions must be unique in the database across both personal links and links by role. Link URLs can be repeated with a different description.

Description

The description or name of the site or link. Descriptions must be unique across both user links and links by role.

Link

The fully qualified URL to the site and or web page. This must include http:// or https://

Order

A number indicating the display order between 0-9999. Multiple links having the same order number are displayed in alphabetic order by Description.
