Editing Part Numbers

Updated by Cheryl Wallace

Most information on a part number can be modified or changed except the inventory type and whether it is a kit. This is most frequently used to change a part number, change a description, add the Min / Max on Hand values, or add information such as a category or vendors. You can also make a part inactive or make a deactivated part active.

  • Transaction Rental Rates must be updated on the Transaction Rate Sheet.
  • Transfer Rental Rates must be updated on the Transfer Rate Sheet
  1. Look up the part number to edit under Inventory > Part Numbers.
To find all parts referencing a category, select the category then click on the toolbar. To find all inactive parts, click the Active checkbox twice so that it is empty before searching.
  1. Make the required changes.
It is recommended to not use the underscore symbol ( _ ) in part numbers. Other special characters are supported ( ! # $ *@ - / )

  1. Click  to save the changed part number record.
Part Numbers can be made inactive when there are outstanding issues. Note that these issues cannot be returned while the part number is inactive and will remain in limbo until the part number is active. Best practice is to return outstanding issues before making the part inactive.
