Registering the ToolHound 6 Database

The final step to installing ToolHound 6 is registering the ToolHound 6 database. This step needs to be completed whether this is a new installation or an upgrade from ToolHound 5.

If you are upgrading from ToolHound 5 see Upgrading from ToolHound 5 before you begin the registration process.

To register a new ToolHound 6 database:

  1. In the browser, point to http://[YOURSERVER]/register​​.
  2. Complete the fields indicated in red at minimum.
  3. If migrating from ToolHound 5, specify the ToolHound 5 company alias in the Convert Database section.
  4. Click Create Database.
Remember to apply the license file after logging in for the first time with On-Premise installations.
Take note of the Database Name / Company Alias as this will be need to be backed up regularly.

Fields on this screen include:

Database / Admin

Database Name / Company Alias

Enter the database name to create. The database name is the same company alias users will use to log in. Special characters are not permitted.

First Name

Enter the first name of the administrator.

Last Name

Enter the last name of the administrator.

Email

Enter the email address of the administrator.

Admin User Name

Enter the login use name for the administrator.

Password

Enter a password for the administrator account. The password must contain: a lower case letter, an uppercase letter, a number, and a special character. Password must be a minimum of 8 characters.

Confirm Password

Re-enter the password to confirm.

Settings

Primary Language

The default language is English - US. Select a non-English language if required.

If this dropdown is blank, ensure you are using the same URL as specified during the installation.

Currency

Select the currency to be used in ToolHound.

If this dropdown is blank, ensure you are using the same URL as specified during the installation.

Days before password must change (0 = never)

To force regular password changes, enter the number of days after which users will be prompted to change their password.

Toolcrib / Warehouse Location Name

Enter the name of the main stocking location. This will be added automatically.

Secondary Language(s)

Select an alternate display language.

Company

Company Name

Enter the name of the organization. Must be different that the Toolcrib / Warehouse Location Name.

The company will be created as the top level non-stocking location in your location tree/hierarchy with the Location ID ALL.

Contact Name

Enter the name of the administrator or main contact.

Phone

Enter the phone number of the organization or main contact, if needed.

Fax

Enter the fax number of the organization or main contact, if needed.

Website

Enter the website of the organization.

Email 1

Enter the email address of main contact.

Address

Enter the street address of the organization/main contact.

City

Enter the city of the organization/main contact.

Country

Enter the country of the organization/main contact.

State

Enter the state/province of the organization/main contact.

Postal Code

Enter the zip/postal code of the organization/main contact.

Email 2

Enter a secondary email.

Logo

Click to select an image file to appear on certain report headers.

Convert Database

Import ToolHound 5 Data

Enter the name of an existing ToolHound 5 database to convert to ToolHound 6. See Upgrading from ToolHound 5.
