Changing the Status of an Item

Depending on the case, it might be advisable to perform an issue/return transaction or retire the item instead of changing the inventory status.
Do not use Change Item Status to put a previously retired item (Lost, Write Off, or Sold) back in stock. See Reinstating a Retired Item.
  1. Click Inventory in the left menu bar and click Change Item Status.
  2. Click  in the edit tool bar to add a new record.
  3. Type the Item ID in the Item ID field and press Tab. Alternatively, click to search the inventory and select the item from the list. Optionally filter the list by entering words or values in the Search box in the top right corner of the list. The Part Number, Description, and Original Inventory Status will be displayed. The Created Date will default to today's date and Created User will contain the current user. These fields will become read only.
  4. Select a New Inventory Status from the list. Only a status with equivalent definitions to the Original Inventory Status will be shown.
  5. Enter the Reason of up to 500 characters.
  6. Click to process the change.
