About Adjust Inventory
Adjust Inventory is used to change quantities for bulk or consumable inventory. The quantity on hand can be increased (positive number) or decreased (negative number) by creating an adjustment for the quantity of change. When adding new Bulk or Consumable inventory outside of the Purchasing module, use this function to set the initial inventory level.
Previous inventory adjustments can also be viewed but not edited or deleted.
Fields on this tab include:
Adjustment No. | Displays the adjustment document number assigned when the adjustment is saved. |
Stocking Point | The stocking location where the inventory was added or removed. |
Item ID | The item ID of the adjusted inventory. |
Quantity | The number by which the quantity on has is increased or decreased. By default, the quantity will be increased. To decrease the quantity, prefix the number with a - (minus) symbol. |
Reason | The reason for adjusting the quantity on hand for this item. |
Inventory Status | Select / Displays the status of the item for this adjustment. Applies only to serialized inventory. |
Cost | Defaults to the part number's Average Cost for the stocking point for new adjustments but this can be overridden. Only visible for users with the Access Actual Cost flag. |
Currency | This is the Currency assigned in the company Settings by default. In multicurrency environments, a different currency can be selected. |
Bin | The bin, shelf, or storage area where the item is kept when it is on hand. |
Part Number | Displays the part number of selected item ID. |
Description | Displays the description of selected item ID. |
QOH | Displays the quantity already on hand. Read-only. |
Serialized | Indicates if the item being adjusted is serialized. |
Kit | Indicates whether the part number is designated as a kit. |
Inventory Status | Displays the current Inventory Status for serialized items. This will not necessarily match the Inventory Status for the adjustment. |
Created User | Displays the user who performing the adjustment. |
Created Date | Displays the date of the adjustment. |
