About Adjust Inventory

Updated by Cheryl Wallace

Adjust Inventory is used to change quantities for bulk or consumable inventory. The quantity on hand can be increased (positive number) or decreased (negative number) by creating an adjustment for the quantity of change. When adding new Bulk or Consumable inventory outside of the Purchasing module, use this function to set the initial inventory level. Previous inventory adjustments can also be viewed but not edited or deleted.

For serialized inventory, this can be used to make corrections to the quantity on hand when other methods fail. Do not use this feature to scrap or reinstate inventory. See About Retired Items.
