Creating a Bulk Kit

Watch this video for a tutorial on building and maintaining kits.

Creating a bulk kit part number:

  1. Click Inventory on the left side menu, then click Part Numbers.
  2. Click  on the edit toolbar to create a new entry.
  3. Enter the Part Number, Description and Visibility Location.
  4. Select Bulk from the Inventory Type from the drop down list.
  5. Check Kit.
  6. Click the Kit Contents tab to add the requirements for the kit.
    1. Click in the grid to add items.
    2. Using the Parts Catalog, select a part number to add as a kit requirement. The Part No and Description is transferred to the Kit Contents grid.
    3. Enter the Required Qty.
  7. Repeat the previous step for each part number required for this type of kit.
  8. Click  on the edit toolbar to save the kit part number.

Building bulk kits

Building or assembling a bulk kit is accomplished by creating an inventory adjustment for the bulk kit ID.

  1. Click Inventory in the main left side menu bar, then click Adjust Inventory.
  2. Click the to add a new adjustment record.
  3. Select a Location from the Location Name drop down list.
  4. Scan/Enter in the Item ID of the bulk kit to be adjusted.
  5. Enter the Quantity of kits being built or assembled.

This adjustment will create the quantity of kits specified

The quantity for each required part number multiplied by the number of kits on the adjustment will be moved to the In Kit column for the stocking point.

  1. Enter a Reason for the change.
  2. Click to process the creation of the bulk kit(s).
Only items that are In Stock in the chosen location may be added to a kit.
