About Transaction Types
Transaction types define how inventory changes status as a result of transactions. This feature is used to
- create variants of the basic transaction types (Issue, Return, Sold) with differing descriptions and combinations of inventory statuses.
- configure the order in which transaction types are displayed in the browser and the Mobile app.
Transaction types have the following fields:
Transaction Type | List of Transaction Types available to be used. |
Order | The display order in the list of transaction types. Valid options are 1 through 9 where 1 will be first and 9 last. Change this value to reorder transaction types when displayed in the list. |
Issue | Inventory leaves the issue location assigned to an entity (personnel or location), and is expected back. |
Return | Inventory is returned to the issue location. |
Sold | When the inventory leaves the issue location and is not expected back. Ownership is transferred to another entity. Can be used to track inventory removed from stock due to occasional resale but does not charge. See the Transaction Rental module for billing. |
Active | If the box is checked, the Transaction Type can be seen. If the box is unchecked the Inventory Type will not be displayed or the related task cannot be done. |
Inventory Status | Select from the predefined list. |
