About Transfers

Updated by Cheryl Wallace

Transfers are the movement of inventory from one stocking location to another stocking location. It can be considered changing in ownership of the inventory from one stocking location to another. Most commonly the transfer is created when the inventory is shipped and then received at the destination stocking location unless it is lost in transit.

Disambiguation: To check out to or assign temporary responsibility for inventory to a non-stocking location such as a job site or project, use Issue / Return.

Optionally, the transfer cycle can begin with the creation of a transfer request in advance of the date when the transfer will be picked. A transfer is created either when picking a transfer request. The inventory transferred must be still be received at the destination.

This page is used to view transfers at any stage once they are picked or to create a transfer.

Non stock parts cannot be transferred.
Transfers cannot be deleted but can be cancelled if they have not been received.
