Alternate IDs tab for Part Numbers

Updated by Cheryl Wallace

The Alternate IDs tab on the Part Numbers page is only visible only for non-serialized inventory types (bulk, consumable, and non-stock). All inventory in ToolHound can be referenced by multiple unique IDs such as UPC codes from different vendors, internal bar codes, brass tags or engraved numbers.  Read more about Primary ID vs Alternate ID.

For serialized items, alternate IDs are maintained on the Serialized Items page.
Watch this video on types of alternate IDs, adding alternate IDs, and using alternate IDs to issue and return inventory.
