Release Notes for version 6.2023.12.13

This is a partial list of enhancements and fixes included with this release.

* Includes minor patches 6.2023.8.25 and 6.2023.9.15

This release includes an update for the ToolHound Mobile app. Ensure your server is updated before updating your mobile device.

Enhancement Highlights

NEW FEATURES

  • The SSO tab in the Settings has been renamed to Authentication for clarity.
  • Disable Local Login has been added to the SSO (single sign-on) settings. When enabled, this prevents bypassing the SSO account login by using the user name and password.
  • Support has been added for Two Factor Authentication (2FA) using your choice of third party authenticator app.
  • Issue / Return
    • displays the image associated with personnel to the left of the page when the entity is entered.
    • can automatically email a transaction receipt to the entity by selecting Email after saving?. This option, like Print after saving, is retained. A valid email address for the entity is required.
  • Transactions now supports additional tabs to cross-reference each rental item exchanged via Transactions On Rent containing the details of Exchanged For and Replaced With issues.
  • Roles now support permissions for individual reports on the new Reports tab.
  • Meter readings can now be imported.
  • On most all data entry forms, reports can now be emailed as well as printed by clicking the envelope icon on the toolbar. Multiple email addresses can be entered separated by a comma. The email address of the current user is entered by default but can be removed or additional email addresses can be added.
  • Mobile
    • Issue / Return displays the image associated with personnel, if available, beneath the entity entered.
    • *Change Bin is now available to update the Bin for serialized items and non-serialized parts for the current stocking location.
    • *Service Requests can now be created.
Features denoted with * are granted to all roles automatically. Edit all roles to set the appropriate permissions.

NEW REPORTS

  • The Job QR Codes report has been added.
  • The Sub Job QR Codes report has been added.
  • The Work Order QR Codes report has been added.

Reporting Enhancements

  • Transfer Receipt report now supports filtering by or addition of Transfer text fields (Notes, Reference, Shipping Instructions).
  • Inventory Tasks report now
    • includes columns for Category, Sub Category and the Recommended Vendor.
    • includes advanced filters for Category, Sub Category and the Recommended Vendor.
  • Damaged Tools report now includes advanced filters for Category and Sub Category.
  • Count Sheets now include the count ID.
  • Work Order reports now show a total for the different charges.
  • Purchase Requisition report lists details in part number order.

Other Enhancements

  • Notifications for transfer requests, transfer, picking transfer requests, and transfer receipts have been augmented. New notification events have been added to support the Requestor visibility and some have changed the visibility used.
If you are using notifications for these documents and are using specific Visibilities, please consult Notifications Event List then review and make any required changes or modify the events as necessary. The following notifications have change how the visibility is applied: Transfer Request - Picked; Transfer - Shipped; and Transfer - Received
  • Notifications are now available for
    • Adjust Inventory - Created.
    • Purchase Order - Created.
  • Attachments now
    • display the full 50 character Description
    • are listed in order of most recently edited (or added) to oldest
  • Requisitions for Transactions now
    • include the Details when duplicated using the Repeat toolbar option.
    • display the Quantity on Hand for each part number.
  • Purchase Requisitions
    • list details in part number order.
    • import has a new template and supports vendor part number, manufacturer, and model.
  • Users
    • now has an improved layout, grouping all important fields on the left, to speed adding new users.
    • now require a valid email address.
  • Count descriptions can now be edited any time prior to closing the count.
  • Location tree hierarchy panel on the left side of the page has been optimized and now displays large lists more quickly.
  • Transaction History for Part Numbers, Serialized Items, Personnel, and Locations now has an option to show all entries. Current default is a maximum of 500 records.
  • Transaction Rate Sheets
    • Have been optimized for improved speed when working with rate sheets containing a large number of part numbers.
    • Update Rates now saves the rates as part of the process rather than having to separately save the rate sheet.
    • Duplicating a rate sheet copies the parts and rates but they are not displayed on the Details tab until the rate sheet is saved.
  • Transfer Rate Sheets
    • Have been optimized for improved speed when working with rate sheets containing a large number of part numbers.
    • Update Rates now saves the rates as part of the process rather than having to separately save the rate sheet.
    • Update Rates By % of Cost now includes Minimum Charge and Maximum Charge.
    • Duplicating a rate sheet copies the parts and rates but they are not displayed on the Details tab until the rate sheet is saved.
  • Import Data
    • Transfer imports now includes a column linking to an existing approved transfer request.
    • Purchase Requisition imports has a new template and supports vendor part number, manufacturer, and model.

Fixes

  • Transfer All was missing the standard Reference field available on Transfers.
  • Issue / Return as not correctly updating quantity when adding the same item ID for subsequent entries.
  • The Part Number Kit flag was editable after saving a new part number.
  • Reports were not editable when duplicating a report with the Edit by Author flag.
  • Scheduled reports
    • with entity filters could not be opened.
    • using a NOT IN comparison would send No Data
  • Inventory Bar Codes report stocking point filter wasn't working for duplicated reports where the sort order was changed.
  • Purchase Orders
    • were retaining the Closed flag for line items when duplicated.
    • could report a "record has changed" message when editing unapproved POs under specific conditions.
  • Imported Purchase Requisitions were not updating the vendor.
  • Create Transfer Request would create a duplicate if Save was double-clicked.
  • Locations that were duplicated were retaining the Modified Date from the original record.
  • Mobile
    • Pick Request would permit scanning the same serialized item ID more than once.
    • Item Lookup QOH was showing non-stocking locations.
