Release Notes for version 6.2022.10.27

This is a partial list of enhancements and fixes included with this release.

For On-Premise installations we strongly recommend updating using the Installer for this version. This update requires the ASP.NET 6 Core Runtime and has changes in the appsettings.json file. The installer will automatically copy the required files and additional basic settings. If you choose to use the Patch, there are special instructions for this update.
SQL Server 2017 or higher is required for this version.

Enhancement Highlights

  • Now uses ASP.NET Core 6 for increased speed and security
  • Better handling of dates around differences in daylight savings time internationally.
  • Results message bar now displays slightly indented and higher on the page to not impede navigation.
  • Unapprove PO has been added to permitted editing of approved POs. See About Unapprove PO for more information.
  • Reports have several enhancements:
    • Reports can now be scheduled for emailing at a later or recurring date.
    • Advanced Filters can now compare two data fields. To specify a field to compare to, select it from the dropdown list at the right of the comparison value text box.
    • Improved support for duplicating reports. See About Customizing Reports for more information.
    • Quick Filters support relative dates of 'today', 'tomorrow', and 'yesterday' (without quotes) in lower case only.
    • Advanced Filters support extended relative dates ('this week', 'last week', 'next week', 'this month', 'last month', 'next month', 'this year', 'last year', and 'next year') in both lower and UPPER case without quotes.
    • Emailing Reports now
      • defaults to a PDF attachment
      • allows selection of users with email addresses as well as multiple typed email addresses
      • prefixes the Subject of an emailed report with "ToolHound - " by default but it can be customized
      • supports the addition of Notes that are included in the body of the email
    • Increased right side padding for number and other right-aligned columns for increased readability.
  • Transaction Activity report now includes the Transaction Requisition No. on the report and as an advanced filter.
  • External Charges report now has the Transaction Notes as an available column for duplicates.
  • Roles report now
    • displays submenu options in the same order as shown on the menu.
    • starts each role on a new page.
  • Receive Inventory now
    • has the option to print the Receiving Slip on the Items Received tab for consistency.
    • uses current times for receipts.
  • Category, manufacturer, job, and cost code page lists now use more of the available screen to reduce scrolling.
  • Part Number and Serialized Items Transaction History tab now displays the entity name instead of the entity ID.
  • The Transaction History tab has been optimized for quicker loading on large databases. Applies to Part Numbers, Serialized Items, Personnel, and Locations.
  • Adjust Inventory
    • Adjustments for bulk kits now list all items not having sufficient quantity on hand to be added to the kit.
    • Adjustment reasons for serialized items put into kits now reference the kit Item ID.
    • Adjustment No. has been added for consistency. (table column intAdjustInventoryID)
      • All new adjustments display the Adjustment No. when saved.
      • All previous adjustments display the Adjustment No.
      • Adjustments can be searched by the Adjustment No.
      • Transaction Histories for part numbers and serialized items display the Adjustment No.
  • Inventory Adjustment report now includes the Adjustment No.
  • Locations now displays Billing Location as an option to pre-filter by when the page is loaded.
  • Jobs has been optimized to load more quickly.
  • Purchase Requisitions cannot be cancelled once approved and a purchase order has been generated.
  • Service Due now has hyperlinks to work orders created.
  • Transfer Rate Sheets
    • Add Part Number function has been optimized.
    • Saving changes to the rate sheet has been optimized.
  • Transfer Charges now automatically calculates the total of a manual charge not based on time. See Adding a Manual Charge - Transfer Rental
  • Transaction Rate Sheets Add Part Number function has been optimized.
  • Transaction Charges now automatically calculates the total of a manual charge not based on time. See Adding a Manual Charge - Transaction Rental
  • Notifications
    • Email subject lines now include the company alias. Example: "Service Due - mycompany" or "Purchase Order Closed Notification - mycompany"
    • Background notification
      • Below Minimum Quantity On Hand now uses the event name (instead of Low Inventory) for consistency.
      • Emails now uses the same Reply To Email as the Personnel Outstanding Issues when specified in the Settings.
  • Background Notifications has been added under Utilities to view details on all successful and errored Background Notification Runs.
  • Kiosk
    • For both Check Out and Return, as items are added to the transaction, they are added to the top of the list in the grid for easy review.
    • Issued Items now reloads the issues after each transaction.
    • Settings now include an option to Use keyboard for Pin.
    • Hovering over the right screen edge now makes the scrollbar more evident.
    • Error messages now use a consistent format.

Fixes

  • Could not access side menu bar options when collapsed.
  • Usernames and passwords were hijacked by browser autofill.
  • Inventory Adjustment report did not filter by User columns.
  • Issues / Return now checks entity maximum issue.
  • Retired Items did not clear the item ID when click + after retiring the first item.
  • Serialized Item dates set in GMT+ time zones were shifting by a day when viewed in GMT- time zones.
  • Personnel records that were reimported to update information lost the link to the picture that was previously attached. Same issue was also fixed on Inventory import.
  • Transfer Charges was not including all Billing Locations across all rate sheets for the user's visibility.
  • Duplicated Inventory reports didn't have the Country column available.
  • Inventory Bar Codes would not work with both an Item ID range and an Avery starting label.
  • Receive Inventory was not saving attachments.
  • The User table had the intEntityID column removed as it was not used.
  • Purchase Orders was not saving attachments when creating a new purchase order.
  • Pick Requisition was not handling bulk kits correctly.
  • Role permissions were not respected by hotkeys.
  • Mobile - Requisitions were with a Ready to Approve flag which did not match the same action on the browser.
  • Kiosk was looping when Require Pin on exit was in use.
  • Kiosk was not warning when item was returned separate from a kit.
