What does "Part No has open issues" mean?
The message "Part No has open issues" occurs when attempting to delete a part number and there are outstanding issues for the part. These outstanding transactions need to be closed by returning the inventory before the part number can be deleted otherwise these issues will remain in limbo for the entity.
To find the issues for the part, run the Issued Assets report (under Inventory) filtered for the part number.
Return the inventory using one of these methods:
- For serialized inventory, you can return the items
- to the entity they were issued to by creating the return transaction for the entity and, optionally, select the items from the Issued Inventory list.
- under any entity by creating the return transaction and entering each item ID.
- For bulk items, they should be returned under the same entity they were issued to ensure an accurate quantity on hand. Returning bulk items to a different entity will leave the items outstanding. Create the return transaction for the entity and, optionally, select the items from the Issued Inventory list.
- If there are a large number of issues to be reconciled, you can import the return transaction to save time. Export the Issued Assets report to Excel. Use that data to help populate the Transactions (under Transactions) import template then import the return transaction.
