What does "Login failed for user" mean?

The error "Login failed for user 'xxx'." indicates that the SQL Server containing your ToolHound data cannot be accessed with the SQL user name shown in the error. This is not a ToolHound user name. Additional troubleshooting information will follow the first sentence of the error message.

For ToolHound On Premise

  1. Take a screenshot or copy the error message text.
  2. Email your internal IT department, help desk or DBA.
    1. Include the error message from step 1.
    2. Include the link to this page.

For ToolHound Cloud

  1. Take a screenshot or copy the error message text.
  2. Email Support, including the error message from step 1.
