Can I change an Item ID?
An item ID can be changed at any time. Sometimes this might require physically changing the barcode, QR code, or RFID tag. Once an item ID is changed, all transaction and other history will appear under the new item ID.
There are multiple ways to do this:
- To change the item ID for a serialized item (tool or equipment) and replace the tag,
- replace a missing or damaged barcode in the browser
- or change the Item ID on TH6 Mobile.
Watch this video on changing a lost or damaged barcode or QR code label. - To change the item ID for a non-serialized part number (consumable, bulk, parts, non stock, etc.),
- edit the part number in the browser
- or change the Item ID on TH6 Mobile
- if required, print a new barcode label for the bin or counter reference binder.
