Hapn GPS

Updated by Dean Perry

Hapn offers state-of-the-art GPS tracking that’s accurate, powerful, and easy to use. A tracking device is attached to an asset to keep track of its location.

ToolHound can connect to your Hapn GPS account to retrieve coordinates for any serialized inventory item with a Hapn tracking device. The device IMEI number must be entered as an Item ID, primary or alternate, in ToolHound for the associated item.

In the Hapn application, you will need to select a Reporting Mode for the tracker. If a Reporting Mode is not set, ToolHound will not be updated. The Reporting mode can be found in the tracker settings.

To connect to Hapn, you will need to get an API Key and API Secret for your account from Hapn. Once you connect to Hapn, the GPS location of the item in ToolHound will be automatically updated based on the Reporting Mode frequency.

At any time you can disconnect Hapn to stop sharing GPS data with your ToolHound database. The API Key and API Secret are also required to disconnect.

For On Premise installations, the server must have a public URL or IP address to accept the updates.
