Configuring the Bar Code Scanner on a Honeywell Device

Updated by Dean Perry

To use the Honeywell's internal scanner with the hardware trigger, you must configure it to insert a tab key after scanning the bar code. This is applicable to all Honeywell devices including the CK65, CT40 and CT60.

The cursor must be in the correct data entry field when pressing the trigger in order for the bar code to be entered.

The following steps will add the tab key as required.

  1. Find the Settings app and tap on it.
  2. Select System -> Data Collection -> Internal Scanner -> Symbology Options -> Postamble.
  3. Set the value to \t.
  4. Tap OK to save the changes.
  5. Tap the Back button until you exit settings.
If you only use the bar code button beside an entry field, you do not need to complete these steps.
