Removing Items from a Kit

Updated by Cheryl Wallace

Occasionally you might need to swap out one serialized item in a kit for another or remove a requirement from the Kit Contents or otherwise change the kit contents.

  • Removing a kit requirement simultaneous removes the item ID from the Kit Contents tab, disassociating the item ID from the kit, and puts the quantity back into stock. Use this option when swapping serialized items in a kit.
  • Removing an item ID from the Kit Contents tab puts the quantity back into stock but the item ID is still listed as a requirement on the Kit Contents tab of kit.
Items can only be removed from the kit if both the kit and the item(s) being removed are in stock.
Removing a kit requirement
  1. Click Inventory on the left side menu, then click Serialized Items.
  2. Lookup the the kit.
  3. Click the Kit Contents tab.
  4. Click on the row for the item ID to remove the item as a requirement from the kit.

Any serialized items will now no longer have a Kit ID link to this kit and the QOH will be 1. The stocking point for the part number will have the QOH increased by 1 and the In Kit column reduced by 1.

Any bulk or consumable items in the kit will have the stocking point's QOH increased by the quantity previously in the kit and the In Kit column reduced by the same number.

  1. Repeat the previous step for each item ID to remove from the kit.
  2. Click on the edit toolbar to complete the process.
