Adding a Location
The process to add a new stocking location (stocking point - warehouse, or tool crib) or non-stocking location (entity) is similar but with some important differences. In either case, these both apply:
Adding a Stocking Location (Stocking Point)
- Click Locations in the left side menu bar then click Locations.
- Click in the edit tool bar.
- Enter the identifying information for this stocking location.
- Type the ID and Location Name.
- Set Location Type to Stocking Location.
- Click to set Billing Location if either the Transaction Rental or Transfer Rental modules are in use and this location will be charging rent.
- Select the Parent Location to determine where the stocking location will appear in the visibility hierarchy.
- Select the Settings tab to configure the behaviour of this stocking point.
- Add any additional information.
- Select the Address tab to enter Billing and Shipping address and contact information.
- Select the Documents tab to configure special numbering sequences.
- Click to save the new location. It will be visible in the tree pane on the left.
Adding a Non-Stocking Location
- Click Locations in the left side menu bar then click Locations.
- Click in the edit tool bar.
- Enter the identifying information for this non-stocking location.
- Type the ID and Location Name.
- Set Location Type to Non-Stocking Location. By default, transactions will be permitted for this entity. Select Disable Transactions to prevent the new non-stocking location from being available for transactions, transaction requisitions, and purchase requisitions.
- Select the Parent Location to determine where the stocking location will appear in the visibility hierarchy.
- Select the Address tab to enter Billing and Shipping address and contact information, if desired.
- Click to save the new location. It will be visible in the tree pane on the left.
