About Dissolving Kits

Updated by Cheryl Wallace

A dissolving kit is a version of a serialized kit, in that each kit is uniquely identified and can contain serialized items as well as bulk and consumable inventory. The difference with a dissolving kit is that when the kit is issued, the items within the kit are removed from the kit, but the kit remains in stock. The kit dissolves.

Imagine a dissolving kit as a container to hold the inventory together while it is in the tool crib but once the kit is brought to the counter, the inventory is taken out and leaves while the container itself goes back to be loaded up again.

To indicate a part number is a dissolving kit, ensure both the Kit and Dissolve Serialized Kit flags are set.
