What does "Error database has been changed" mean?

Updated by Cheryl Wallace

The error "Database has been changed" or "database has changed" indicates that you are attempting to update a record that has been updated by a different process, or in a different tab or browser, since the record was loaded. This happens most frequently when you are editing data in two related browser tabs such as changing a part description and editing an existing serialized item for that part number.

To resolve this problem, refresh the page or tab where the error is displayed. You will need to re-enter any changes.
