Set Min and Max quantities

Updated by Cheryl Wallace

Best practice is to import minimum and maximum quantities for each part number at each stocking location to suggest reorder quantities early on in your implementation or when the Purchasing module is phased in to use.

As new part numbers are added going forward, the Min Max values can be added at the same time the part is created.

Import the Min Max for multiple part numbers

  1. Download the Mix Max sample template on the Import Data page in the Inventory section.
  2. Edit the file. Enter values for all the applicable columns for each combination of Part Number and Location ID according to the Instructions tab. Save the file.
Quickly populate the spreadsheet with Part Numbers from Inventory by Location report filtered as required or, if you are at the beginning of your implementation, for your Part Numbers import template. Be sure to specify the Location ID, not the Location Name.
  3. Import the file.

Manually add the Min Max to a single part number

  1. Look up the part number on the Part Numbers page.
  2. Select the Stocking Points tab.
  3. Scroll to the right until the Min On Hand and Max On Hand columns are visible.
  4. Enter the Min On Hand and Max On Hand values for the appropriate stocking point row.
  5. Repeat step 4 in the case of multiple stocking locations.
  6. Click to save the change.

If the Purchasing module is not licensed by your organization, use the Low Inventory report to view suggested order quantities. To facilitate communicating this information to purchasers using ERP or other systems, email an Excel version of the Low Inventory report.
