About Roles

Roles are added to a user login to grant access to ToolHound. Roles define the permissions for a job description or set of functions for the visibility location. These permissions are set at the menu page and report level.

Creating a Role

Click Utilities in the left side menu, then click Roles. Click + in the tool bar. Enter a unique Role description and select a Visibility. Click to enable Edit Labels if users with this role can change captions appearing on screens and reports...

Looking Up a Role

Click Utilities in the left side menu then click Roles. Enter any known information about the role as a pre-filter. Click Search in the edit tool bar. If only one personnel record matches the pre-filter it will be displayed automatically.

Editing a Role

Add, change or remove permissions. Look up the role to edit under Utilities > Roles. Make the required changes. Click Save.

Look up a role under Utilities > Roles. Click X to delete the role. Select OK to delete.
