Alternate IDs tab for Part Numbers

This tab is only visible only for non-serialized inventory types. All inventory in ToolHound can be referenced by multiple unique IDs such as UPC codes from different vendors, internal bar codes, RFID chip, brass tags or engraved numbers. In the case of non-serialized items, the primary ID is on the part number and the list of alternate IDs is maintained on the Alternate ID tab. For serialized items, alternate IDs are maintained along with the primary ID on that page.
Fields on this tab include:
ID | Displays the alternate ID of the item. |
Description | A description of the alternate ID. |
Adding an Alternate ID for a non-serialized Part Number
- Look up the Part Number.
- Select the Alternate IDs tab.
- Click
to add a new alternate ID. - Enter the new alternate Item ID to associate with this part number.
- Optionally enter a Description of the type of identifier. Example: UPC
- Click
to save.
