Adding a Service Requirement for Serialized Items

Updated by Cheryl Wallace

Best practice is to assign the required service task to the Part Number to ensure consistency. Each serialized item will inherit the service requirement from the part when it is added. Adding a service requirement directly to a single serialized item is only required for exceptions to the standard preventative maintenance for the part.

  1. Click the Service Requirements tab for the appropriate item record.
  2. Click  in the Service grid.  The list of tasks with frequency and meters is displayed.
  3. Double-click the Task to add it to the service requirements.
  4. Enter the Last Service Date, Last Reading Date and Last Service Reading, as applicable for the specified task.  The Service Due Date and Service Due Reading will be immediately updated depending on the values entered.
  5. Click to save the service task.
To remove a service requirement task, select it and click in the grid. The Service History will not be affected. Tasks cannot be removed if there is a pending open work order for the item.
