About Categories and Sub Categories

Categories are used to classify part numbers into "families" of like items. Categories have a single level of sub categories. Each category can have multiple sub categories.

Looking Up a Category or Sub Category

All categories are displayed when the page is opened. If there are more category records than are visible without scrolling, or if searching for sub categories, consider using the search.

Look up the record to edit under Inventory > Categories. Click on the Category to change or expand the category to select the Sub Category to change...

Deleting a Category and Sub Category

A category or sub category can not be deleted if it is in use. Look up the record to edit under Inventory > Categories. Select the category or sub category to delete by clicking in the checkbox to the left. Click X in the edit tool bar.
